Kakao Personalized Advertising refers to text, image, or video ads displayed on KakaoTalk Channel Message Ads, Kakao services, and Kakao-affiliated display networks.
Kakao Personalized Advertising predicts sex, age, region, and matter of interest, based on demographic features, curbs unnecessary impressions by analyzing common properties, and provides users with useful ads. Kakao Personalized Advertising is composed of 'Behavioral Advertising' and 'Membership Information Based Advertising.'
Behavioral advertising provides personal advertisements1) by utilizing online users' activity information (hereinafter, the "Behavioral Information") that helps us identify and analyze users' interests, tastes, and tendencies via the history of website visit, app use, purchase, and search, based on 'Advertising Cookie' or 'Advertising ID.' Cookies are small files that users store on their computer's hard disk when they first visit a website. Cookies also refer to a technology used to help users utilize web-based services. Advertising ID means an identifier used to provide users with personalized information or advertisement via IDs issued in a mobile OS.
Kakao does neither collect/create sensitive information that may clearly infringe on a user's rights, interests, or privacy nor combine behavioral information collected via Advertising Cookie or Advertising ID with identification information without the relevant user's consent. To provide personalized advertisements and content depending on sex, age, and matter of interest analyzed/predicted based on demographic features, any behavioral information collected through Advertising Cookie or Advertising ID will be maintained for the maximum of one(1) year and then destroyed permanently in a non-recoverable way or maintained separately. Kakao neither collects activity logs from children who know they are under 14 or online services whose primary users are under 14 nor provides personalized advertisements to children who know they are under 14.
Users can block the receipt of personalized advertising at any time. Even with Personalized Advertising blocked, you will still see ads, but their relevance to you may be minor.When you block ads in the web browser
If you block cookies by setting options in the web browser, behavioral ads will not be displayed. If you set to 'Block Personalized Advertising' in 'Exercise the Right of User Control' as below, you can block the use of behavioral ads. If you want to receive personalized ads again, please switch to 'Allow Personalized Advertising.' Please note that you may have trouble using some web services or any service that requires login.
Even though 'Exercise the Right of User Control' is set to 'Block Personalized Advertising,' 'Exercise the Right of User Control' will be switched to 'Allow Personalized Advertising' when you remove cookies from browser options, and personalized ads may be displayed again.When you block ads in the app
